To do so the Director of Support Services would play a crucial part.
About the Director of Support Services
As a member of the executive leadership team, the Director of Support Services (DSS) will strategically shape the effectiveness of Youth Unlimited’s operations in serving our staff and programs to accomplish our vision of seeing transformed youth transform our city.
The Director of Support Services has the opportunity to shape Youth Unlimited’s strategy and to develop a culture and context that emphasizes effectiveness and care towards our field staff and team leaders. Through team leadership and insightful implementation of systems and processes, the DSS plays a vital role in maximizing the stewardship of our people, finances, and organizational capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and developing a healthy and interdependent support services team;
- Overseeing the Human Resources, Information & Technology, and Finance functions of the organization;
- Managing and developing applicable policies and guidelines supporting the ongoing work and operations of YU;
- Establishing and implementing organizational best practices to support our ministries; and
- Ensuring YU remains legally compliant in all areas of organizational functioning.
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with:
- A passion and heart to see the transformation of young people in the Greater Toronto Area, particularly among those experiencing vulnerability;
- A deep love for Jesus and a desire to serve in their gifting and lean into others’ giftings;
- A servant-oriented leader with strong people management skills and 5+ years of related leadership experience in a similar role;
- The self-initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
- Strong problem-solving skills and a process-oriented approach to creative solutions; and
- Technical expertise in the area of finance, as well as capabilities and/or understanding in the areas of HR and IT.
Position Information:
This position is full-time working from our Jonesville Crescent Office in North York, but with flexibility to work from home for one day per week.
The salary for this position is determined on a scale based on education and experience, and is funded in part on a missionary basis, requiring the gathering of a personal support team.
